Tips To Stay Healthy During COVID-19
With the rapid spread of COVID-19, it’s crucially important to be aware of the protective measures and stay aware of the latest information on the COVID-19 outbreak. As there is no current vaccine to prevent coronavirus disease, the best way to prevent illness for yourself and your family is to avoid being exposed to the virus. You may be wondering how to stay healthy during this pandemic, so we’ve gathered a few tips for YOU!
Wash Your Hands Frequently
Everyone should be cleaning their hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. The virus spreads by respiratory droplets generated when you cough or sneeze, prolonged personal contact, and touching something with the virus on it. Make sure to wash your hands thoroughly to kill the viruses that may be on your hands. If you’re out and aren’t able to wash your hands, use a hand sanitizer that contains at least 60% alcohol.
Maintain Social Distancing
Avoid close contact and stay at home as much as possible! This is a simple, yet difficult step for many people. Some people without symptoms may be able to spread the virus and small liquid droplets can transfer to your body. If you’re too close, you can even breathe in the droplets. Remember these precautions are made to protect yourself and those around you. Keeping a safe distance will never hurt you.
Avoid Touching Eyes, Nose & Mouth
The virus can enter your body through the eyes, nose, and mouth. Touching something with the virus on it and then touching your face is another way the virus spreads. Try to keep your hands busy and figure out what triggers you to touch your face! Also, remember to always cover when you cough or sneeze. Another tip is to disinfect frequently touched surfaces such as doorknobs, phones, tables, keyboards, and more!
Monitor Your Health
Stay home if you feel unwell. During this difficult time, it’s important to monitor your health at all times. Seek medical attention if you experience symptoms and isolate yourself for 14 days. You can always call 8-1-1 to seek medical advice at any time. Call your local health authorities and follow their instructions. Calling will allow the health care provider to direct you to the right facility, protect you and help prevent the spread of the virus. Make sure to take care of your mental wellbeing as this is a stressful time for many people.
We’re all facing this together! Maintain a healthy diet and exercise at home to stay physically and mentally healthy.
